10 Month Update

So, friends, I have a confession to make. Yes, I’m a little over 2 weeks late with this update, but let’s be honest, that’s nothing new. Ha.  Anywho, my confession… I subconsciously am doing my darndest to hold onto Ethan’s infancy.  How?  Welp, in his first wonderful months of life, I counted how old he is/was by weeks (i.e. every 4 weeks, he is a month older).  And now??? I go by the 30th or 31st of every month, since his birthday is Jan. 31st, 2014.  Other new moms will understand, I hope.  Yep, every little day counts around here.  😉

Photo Credit (for all the pics in this post) goes to his awesome daycare provider – Little Explorers LLC.

Eating: He’s doing a little better than last month – meaning, he’s not as picky!  Thank you Lord!  Plus, we’re a little over halfway there in transitioning him out of his hypoallergenic formula to a toddler transition/milk-based formula.  His feeding schedule is pretty much the same though.  We also introduced a few new foods.  Namely avocado and boiled eggs…. mmmm yea, he is def. NOT a fan as of yet.  Will try again next month, I suppose!  On the plus side, he is still loving his fruit/yogurt and veggie/protein (i.e. turkey or chicken) combos.

Did I mention that two little top teeth buds have made an appearance???  Little man is really growing up!

Sleeping (naps): Again, naps have stayed pretty much the same. He’s usually a pretty good napper… most days, he’s taking two naps between 9-10am and 2-3pm (depends on when he last woke up) and each one lasts about an hour to 2 hours.  WINNING!

Sleeping (at night): He;s still pretty much sleeping through the night… I take him upstairs to his room to start his bedtime routine at either 7:30pm or 8pm, and he doesn’t officially wake up until 6:30 or 7:00am, most nights. He still whimpers a bit sometimes at around 3 or 4am, but so long as we give him a pacifier, he’ll usually go right back to sleep.  For fun, here’s our current bedtime routine – I change his diaper one last time for the night, brush his 4 little teeth (using a finger brush and water only, for now), change him into his bedtime clothes, read him a bedtime story or read from his Childrens’ book of prayers, turn the lights out (leaving the night light on), feed him one last bottle and put him to bed. 🙂

SideNote: We’re also in full swing of transitioning him out of bottles and into using sippy cups more often.  I think the bedtime bottle will be the last to go, though.

Clothing: “Some” 9 month onesies, but mostly 12(!!) month clothing, along with size 4 diapers.

Looking forward to this month:

  • Taking Ethan to see Santa at the mall this weekend!  Not sure what his reaction will be, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be a memorable moment nonetheless!  Haha!
  • More crawling!  He’s finally crawled a little and mostly does the army crawl on his new playmat at home.
  • Christmas!!!! Sooo looking forward to spending the holiday in Florida, with the hubby’s fam for Ethan’s first Christmas!  It’ll also be Ethan’s first flight!  Prayers going up for seamless/safe flights to and from!
  • Major prepping for his FIRST BIRTHDAY on Jan. 31st, 2015! I’m keeping the theme a surprise for now. 😉

It was “blue day” at daycare! 🙂

The hubby captured this one… Ethan rearranging our furniture.  Haha!

Welp, that’s all for now.  What’s going on in your world?  Fill me in! 😉
