6 Month Update!!

Sooo… I’m almost 2 weeks late (I know.  Surprise, Surprise! Haha), BUT better late than never! 😉 Especially since SO much has changed…in just one month!  Here’s to half a year (WOW, still can’t believe it!) with my favorite little guy… Ethan!

And to commemorate the occasion 😉  I figured a 6 month old video would be so much more fitting than just a picture!  Enjoy a few seconds of Ethan’s morning baby talk.  Such an expressive kid, he is.  Lol!

And now, for his 6 month update!

Wallpaper

Weight & Height: The last time we checked at his doctor appointment, he was clocking in at 18 pounds, 27 and a half inches!

Eating: Ethan continues to eat like a champ, but this past month we’ve had to put a halt on the solid foods, and limit it to pear purees and prune purees. **insert sad face** Our little Ethan’s constipation issues were just not getting better, so per his pediatrician’s suggestion, we’ve switched him to a hypoallergenic formula.  Fortunately within 24 hours, we already started to see a dramatic change for the better (i.e. no more painful poops!  **sorry for the graphic expression**)!  Here’s hoping he continues to do well, so we can start re-introducing some other solid purees/mash-ups such as…

  • sweet potato
  • peas
  • avocado
  • butternut squash (homemade)

Sleeping (naps): He’s still a pretty good napper fortunately! Usually we’ll get one good morning nap, a 30-45 to a 2 hr. long afternoon nap, and (on good days) at least an hour long evening nap before his official bedtime (i.e. the time he finally conks out), which can be anywhere from 9:30 to 11pm!

Sleeping (at night): So… the good thing is, it’s usually not a problem putting him down to sleep AND he’s been sleeping in his crib, in his room, since he was practically a month old!  The challenging part… he still wakes up to eat at around 2:30-3:00 AM, without fail.  I’m telling you, this kid will only eat just enough to get him through half the night.  Shrug.  Perhaps we’ll see more improvement next month!

Clothing: 6 to 9 month clothing fits him the best!

Social: Oh my, do we have the social butterfly on our hands… and I absolutely LOVE it!  🙂  He seems to thrive when other people are around and loves to make noises to get attention.  I’m talking anything from soft cooing to LOUD squeals and hearty laughter.  It just melts my heart!  As of lately, he’s loving this song!  It’s guaranteed to keep him smiling and laughing no matter how many times we play it.  Lol!

Likes: Eating, his jumper, tummy time, listening to his favorite songs, being sung to, grabbing at faces (or anything he can get his hands on!), the remote control, bubbles, sticking his tongue out and making funny sounds with it.

Dislikes: Being in his car seat for too long, not getting all of mommy’s attention (if he notices me walking past him, he’ll make his presence known. Lol!)… hope this isn’t a prelude to that clingy phase, and the pacifier (he only takes it to help him fall asleep when he’s almost out)!

Well, that’s all for now folks!  Until next time!

  1. Glad his tummy problems got solved! Madeline had issues when she was around3 weeks old. It took us a while to figure out how to fix it and my goodness did I hate hearing her scream when she was trying to poop!
